Carpet cleaning is a deep wash of the carpet fibers in your home, not just a hard vacuum. It pulls out ground-in dirt, spots, allergens and pet odor that a vacuum leaves behind. A proper cleaning makes rooms look and smell fresh again, and it helps your carpet last longer.

A visit covers whole rooms, not just the marks you can see. Spots and traffic lanes get extra care, and stairs and area rugs can join the same trip.

What is included in professional carpet cleaning?

The whole carpet gets cleaned, edge to edge. Spots and packed traffic lanes are treated first, because ground-in dirt needs loosening before the deep clean. Then every fiber gets washed and the soil is pulled out, not pushed around. You end up with one clean, even result across every room you booked.

Carpet is not the only soft surface holding dirt. Many customers add upholstery cleaning for sofas and chairs or tile and grout cleaning to the same visit, so the whole floor plan gets done in one trip.

Is steam cleaning better than shampooing carpet?

For most carpets, yes. Steam cleaning, also called hot water extraction, washes the fibers with hot water and cleaning solution, then pulls the water and the loosened dirt straight back out. The carpet is left clean and damp, not soaked. It is the method behind our name.

Shampooing works differently. It scrubs a foam into the carpet and lets it dry in place. The problem is residue. Foam left in the fibers turns sticky, and sticky fibers grab new dirt fast. That is why shampooed carpet often looks dingy again within weeks. Steam cleaning rinses instead of coating, so the clean lasts.

Can pet stains and odors be removed from carpet?

Most pet stains and odors can be removed, but they take more than a surface clean. Urine soaks through the fibers into the backing and the pad underneath. Cleaning only the top of the carpet leaves the odor source behind, and the smell returns on the next humid day. Pet stain and odor treatment goes after the source, not just the spot you can see.

Be straight with us about the pets when you book. Old, set stains can bleach or dye carpet fibers for good, and no cleaner can undo that. You will hear what should come out, and what will not, before the work starts.

How do you remove tough carpet stains?

Match the treatment to the stain. Coffee, red drinks, grease, ink and rust each break down differently, so one product cannot fix them all. Store bought sprays make many stains worse. Some coat the stain, and some set it into the fiber for good with the wrong chemistry. A set stain is far harder to remove than a fresh one.

If you spill something, blot it with a clean white cloth and plain water. Do not rub, and do not pile on products. Then have the spot treated properly during a carpet cleaning visit.

Do you also clean area rugs?

Many area rugs can be cleaned right in your home, in the same visit as your carpet. Tell us about the rug when you book, including what it is made of. We clean rugs where they lie. We are not a rug shop, and we do not haul rugs away for days of soaking and drying.

Some delicate rugs, like silk or antique pieces, need a specialty rug shop instead. If yours is one of them, we will say so instead of risking it.

How often should carpets be cleaned?

Once a year works for most homes. Carpet hides dirt low in the pile where you cannot see it, so it looks fine long after it is truly dirty. A yearly deep clean stops that buildup from grinding down the fibers every time someone walks across the room.

Busy homes need more. With pets, young kids, allergies or heavy foot traffic, a clean every six months keeps the carpet and the air in the room noticeably fresher. Weekly vacuuming stretches the time between deep cleans, but it never replaces them.
